Out with the Old!

I love Twitter. It's a great way to find wonderful resources. I don't follow Twitter as regularly as I should. Every time I take the time to scan Tweets, I'm never disappointed. There's always something to learn. And today was no exception.

Well I hadn't considered that the KWL chart would change. But it has! And for the better. Look at this chart! It pushes learning even deeper. Thanks Formative!

It is Well

I've been reading the scriptures in Isaiah lately and meditating on Isa. 41:10 and Isa 43:1. What has struck me is the word redeemed. What does redeemed mean to you? Have you been redeemed?
Tonight I was overwhelmed with gratefulness for God's redeeming love. The words of this song came to mind. The thought in verse 3 was especially meaningful.

I'm working on my sabbatical project - dispositions. In my reading I uncovered the word 'mindset'. And after a simple search on the web I found this great video on a 'growth mindset' and the work of Carol Dweck (2006). I found a video which I think are interesting and worth the time to view. In this video Dweck explains her research in Growth mindset which is animated.

Here's a great Infographic for 6 easy steps for flipping your classroom. Problem is the graphic is so big you can't see the whole graphic without scrolling over. Do it. It is a great idea.

Interesting Link

One of my students, Meghan Sepessy, passed along this interesting link from Dinah Zike called Teaching Mathematics with Foldables. They look like a fun and engaging way to teach any content. I hope you can dream of content you might teach using these creative foldables!

Moving forward....

I have been powerfully connected to so many students and alumni. I want to communicate, challenge, and inspire them to bigger and better ways to impact student learning. I hope they will be a positive influence and witness of God's love.

Times are changing....teaching is changing....students are changing.....and we must change as well. Watch this video I recently found on YouTube.">

Do you agree? Can you teach this way? What are your limitations?
